Poly-B replacement & repiping in Kelowna
If your Okanagan home was built between the late '70s and the mid-'90s, there's a good chance it has Poly-B plumbing. We replace it with modern PEX, planned around your home so it's done cleanly, not torn apart.

Poly-B (polybutylene) was used in a huge number of BC homes from the late 1970s into the mid-1990s. It can look fine for years, then the fittings and the pipe itself start to fail, often without warning, and a single failure can do serious water damage. Many insurers now treat Poly-B as a known risk, and some won't write or renew a policy until it's gone.
We replace Poly-B with modern PEX, which is flexible, reliable and the current standard. The work is planned around your home, we open only what we need to, run the new lines cleanly, and patch back so you're left with a system you don't have to worry about.
What we handle
Full repipe
Replacing the Poly-B throughout the home with PEX, supply lines, connections and fittings, so the whole system is brought up to a modern standard at once.
Planned, clean access
We map the runs first and open only what's necessary, then patch back. The goal is a repipe that doesn't turn your home into a construction site.
Insurance peace of mind
Removing Poly-B can matter for coverage and resale. We can document the work so you have proof the home's been repiped.
Hidden leaks
If a Poly-B line is already leaking inside a wall or ceiling, we locate the source, make access and repair it properly.
You may have Poly-B if:
- Your home was built roughly between 1978 and 1995
- You see grey (sometimes black or blue) flexible pipe at the hot water tank or shut-offs
- There are plastic or copper crimp fittings on grey poly piping
- You've had unexplained leaks at pipe joints
- Your insurer has flagged the plumbing or asked about Poly-B
Questions, answered
How do I know if I have Poly-B?
It's usually grey flexible plastic pipe (occasionally black or blue), most visible at the hot water tank and shut-off valves. If your home was built between the late 1970s and mid-1990s, it's worth checking, we can confirm it for you.
Why replace it instead of waiting?
Poly-B tends to fail at the fittings and from the inside out, often with no warning, and one failure can flood a finished space. Replacing it on your terms is far cheaper than dealing with a burst line and the damage after.
Will you have to tear the whole house apart?
No. We plan the runs and open only what's needed for access, then patch back. A repipe is disruptive, but a planned one is a long way from gutting the place.
